We're convinced that education is one of the most powerful tools for overcoming poverty for good. In crisis regions, a lack of access to education is often the result of disadvantage passed down through generations. Without targeted support, this downward spiral simply continues.

That's why we see our sponsorships as a strategic investment in a child's future – and, at the same time, in the stability of entire communities. Our goal is to lift children out of hardship and open up the path to a successful working life.

With every sponsorship, you take a concrete step toward transforming the structures of poverty for good – through education, opportunity and responsibility.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about sponsorship

1. Why become a sponsor?+
A sponsorship is more than a donation. It's a long-term bond that gives someone stability, hope and a real perspective. In Afghanistan especially, many families live under very difficult conditions, and it's children and women above all who bear the brunt of political instability and economic hardship.
2. What does a sponsorship cost, and what does it include? +
The monthly sponsorship contribution is €50. This covers the key costs a child needs for healthy development and to attend school, in particular:

  • School costs such as fees, learning materials and necessary equipment
  • Food, to ensure a sufficient and balanced diet
  • Hygiene items that support good health
  • Clothing, including weather-appropriate, suitable everyday wear
3. How do you make sure my help actually arrives? +
We place great importance on:

  • Transparent use of funds
  • Working with local partners
  • Data protection for sponsors and families
  • Regular project reports
Every child's progress is followed through a monthly monitoring process, in which school performance, attendance and health and hygiene are reviewed regularly. Every payment made through a sponsorship is documented in person on site and signed for by the recipient.

In addition, our staff on the ground carry out an independent review at least twice a year to verify progress objectively.
4. Can I cancel the sponsorship at any time?+
You can cancel with one month's notice.
